it gives me this at the top of the blog: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/d3fault/public_html/views/wp-content/themes/default/sidebar.php on line 37

what does it mean and how can i fix it.
you can view what ive done here http://www.d3fault.org/views

Fix the error on line 37. If you can't figure it out, you can post your sidebar code in pastebin, highlight the error line and provide the link here.

    http://pastebin.com/342759

and when i take out the calender code..it then has a problem with the categories.
could this be a problem with the header? I didnt include a picture so thats what that little red x box is..i was going to include it later when i got the sidebar and all up and going.

once again..thank you for helpine me.

This could be a problem that you have the sidebar called BEFORE the header is called?

The wp_blog_header.php pulls in all the wp functions. I assume you are calling it somewhere as the posts are listed, however, wp_list)pages is a WP function that should also then be available to the sidebar code. I can't invision why it bonks there.

I am sorta shooting in the dark because I don't know your setup.

whoa..i dont have that anywhere. now im going back and seeing why.

and what do you mean my set up..im trying to do step five from this guys tutorial on how to mod your blog: http://detoxxify.org/?page_id=7
    "Step Five:
Customizing your side.php file. I’m not going to show you a full code of my side.php file because everyone’s sidebar is different. The only thing you NEED to put there if your following my tutorial directly is your side div layer command, like so:
    <div id=side> Your side file. </div>
Please remember to END your side div layer. Or else things will get fucked up."

I'm not a big fan of sites condensed into a size 1 footprint with small type. Nor am I about to look for my reading glasses to read a lengthy post on how to create one.

If you are working out of your theme directory, then no worries about the blog header as it is called in the root index. Not sure then why the wp_list_pages() is not available in the included sidebar.

aww im sorry about the page size..i have a 30 inch screen so i didnt know how small it was. actually the trend of personal domains having that is REAL rampant.
anywho..i appreciate your help..im going back to the drawing board.
