I want facebook like on my blog posts but not on any other page of my site. I have Manually add the button to your theme or posts (use the sfc_like_button() function in your theme) checked. I don't know what this means.

use the sfc_like_button() function in your theme

    I tried [fb-like] and that didn't work.

Considering the difficulty and the number of problems you're having with the plugin, I would suggest that you remove it entirely and try a different plugin. You might have better success with an alternative approach.

It's working now so I don't know what the problem was before. I'm still using [fb-like]. It was not a cache issue either.

I like the plugin just fine and after all the work it took to get it to work I'm not about to start over with something else. FWIW for folks like me who know just enough about code to get in trouble it would be nicer if the instructions like

Just before the first input, add this code: [div id="comment-user-details"] [?php do_action('alt_comment_login'); ?]

Would go on to say and the first input would look like this and show what that input code would look like.
