I can download and activate plugins but nothing shows up on any of my pages. What am I doing wrong? Or What do I need to do to get them to show up on a page?

Depends on the plugin, some plugins once activated do not need to be set up anymore, other plugins require some sort of action in the Admin Settings or Tools. What plugins are not working in your installation?

Specifically which plugins are you having trouble with? Typically the plugin page in WordPress Extend ( see top of this page ) will have an installation guide.
