• I got the same generic catch-all error message others are getting:

“You’ve reached the bandwidth limit for viewing or downloading files that aren’t in Google Docs format. Please try again later.”

I can view the documents outside this plugin fine. So, the message in the error is not the real problem, nor helpful for troubleshooting.

I noticed a huge list of alternatives. Thus, it doesn’t make sense to tinker around with trying to get a buggy-one to work.

  • Thanks David for your feedback, though it represents a misunderstanding of what GDE is – a wrapper for Google Viewer, which is the service providing that error message. You can find forum pages all over the place reporting this issue in Google Viewer, and it’s documented for GDE as well (even linked at the top of the plugin’s home page).

There certainly are alternatives, and hopefully you’ve found one that meets your needs, but this particular issue is not the fault of a buggy plugin but a buggy service from Google which it wraps. Distinction makes no difference to an end user, I get that, but know what it is you’re reviewing here.
