OK, so I down loaded the zip file, decompressed it and the up loaded it to the themes folder. I then go to the wp-admin/themes page; it shows the Current Theme is: WordPress Default 1.6 by Michael Heilemann
Under available themes it lists "Arjuna X 1.3.5" among others. I click on the link and the current them changes to "Arjuna X 1.3.5 by SRS Solutions". WordPress Default 1.6 is now listed as available. So it should work – wrong.

I go to view the site and I get a page that displays:
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
    And that is all.
If I switch back to "WordPress Default", everything is fine. So I tried downloading several other themes. I found the same problem. So, obviously I am missing something.

perhaps you are nesting the theme folders when unzip/upload - like
    /wp-content/themes/yourtheme/yourtheme

Thank you for the suggestion. When I moved the folder into the site, I recognized the potential problem for the folder in a folder, and checked to see how it was done for the default and optional themes. I did it like they were done: /wp-content/themes/Arjuna-x

I dont understand what the problem might be. I have never coded in PHP so while I can read the code, I don't really understand what I am looking at.

    Any help is appreciated.

I noticed from someone elses comments that it might be possible to import a theme using wordpress tools. How does that work? I havent found anything that hints of that capability.

    Thanks again for any suggestions

Are you really on version 2.04?

Version 2.04 is way too old to have the theme uploader in it. Heck, it is way too old period! If you update to the current version you'll get the built-in theme finder/uploader stuff.
