can't find localhost info to put into wp.config.php (3 posts)

    Hello,
This might be info I need to get from my ISP who hosts my current site.

But I'm following a tutorial and they're using GoDaddy (I am not). They were able to simply go to a panel for their newly set-up database and copy a string of characters for the localhost.

My ISP's control panel doesn't show me anything similar.

Are most of these set up a similar way? Can I find it without contacting my ISP? I've already set up a subdomain and a database. That's as far as I got.

    Thanks,
    Jane

Does your host have any documentation on connecting to the MySQL server? If not, you may have to contact them as ask for the database host name. It can very tremendously from host to host.

Is the database located at the same server with your WordPress installation? If it is, just put localhost as the value in the config file should be able solve the issue.
