• OK. Newbie here who has created a real mess and needs help.

I installed the Responsive theme and created a Home page and a couple of other pages as well.

During my playing around I have obviously made some changes I wish I had not done. I want to go back to my original home page and edit it, but that page is no longer available under Pages.

I’ve tried creating a new home page, but it does not have the formatting that came with the home page on the Responsive theme. I’ve tried installing other themes and then coming back to the Responsive theme, but the same problem exists. How do I get to the original home page on the Responsible theme so I can use that formatting? I don’t mind starting over entirely if that is what it takes 🙂

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Recreate the page (home page) and on the right hand side where you see “Templates” – choose your theme’s home page template. That will allow you to style the theme layout as per those templates.

Secondly you need to go to: Settings | Reading | Front Page Display | and select “Static Page” and the page you wish to have as your home page.

I would start by deleting the responsive theme, and then downloading it again.

I deleted the Responsive theme and reinstalled it. The problem still exists.

You need to go to Theme Options > Home Page and check the box “Enable Custom Home Page” – that gets you the Responsive special home page.

Then you set up the home page in the options below on that screen.

Thanks guys! That was a big help.

Now I have one other problem you may be able to help me with. I want to change the logo from “Responsive” to my logo. I went to the Header info and browsed for my logo, selected it and clicked on Save Changes. However, it did not replace the logo. Any ideas?

Hmm, strange – I just tried that on a test site and it worked fine.

Try going to Theme Options > Logo Upload that does take you to the Header screen, but just for the hell of it…

Also be sure you’ve cleared any caching on your site?

I’ve tried it going through Theme Options\Logo Upload as well as Header\Custom Header. Neither of them work for me.

    I’ve also cleared my cache…
