I’ve been editing using Firefox (3.6.x) quite happily. But when I try to edit in IE (first 8, now 9 beta) I can’t select any text by point/drag over text already there.

If I add a new page, type a line and do Ctrl+C, I can select that text, but cannot alter it, eg bold it.

    Any known workarounds?

    Paul

WordPress when used with IE9 (beta) has page editing problems. Avoid this combination. Revert to IE8 and the problems go away…

I’m on the official release of IE9 and am having this problem…anyone else???? A few other Microsoft services I use are optimized for IE so I’d rather not using multiple browsers…

As far as I am aware, IE9 still hasn’t been officially launched. You may be using a release candidate which could still have bugs.

IE9 was officially released on 3/14. I’m not using the RC, either.

I am using the full release of IE9, and it seemed to work fine up until the upgrade to WP3.1.1. Now the visual editor does not work at all with ID9. It seems to work fine with Firefox.

I discovered this problem today with a client site. The site is running WP 3.0.4 and IE9 (full release) would not let me use the buttons in the visual editor or select any text in the visual editor.

Is there a fix for this yet?

rosser, could you change this post to “unresolved”?
