• I log on to my webpage to do some changes to find I can’t change anything. I get messages such as this:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/02/9741402/html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php:1) in /home/content/02/9741402/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 881

    Any suggestions?!

are you using a child theme based on twentyten? and if so have you copied over the functions.php file to your child theme? if you have it may be trying to load the functions.php file twice so delete it from your child theme and see if that helps…

I don’t have any child theme on my website.

can you give us a link to your site and tell us what version of wordpress you’re using?

Sure no problem: richardsoncenter.com I just downloaded the newest version tonight.

maybe try switching to twentyeleven to see if that makes a difference. or just double check that your version of twentyten theme is up to date now you’re on the latest version of the core…

OK how do I do that? I’m a bit old school and just know basics.

in your admin dashboard go to appearance -> themes and select a different one. if there are none installed you can click on the install tab and search for twentyeleven and install and activate it.

once you’ve done that see if that’s helped…

Yah I can’t even get to my dashboard thus the problem. After I log in it comes up looking like this instead:

can you access your server? if you can maybe try and delete the twentyten theme folder as it seems to be at the root of the problem.

you should be able to access it via your web hosting or using an ftp client like filezilla or cyberduck.

I can get to my log in page and then it whacks out. Idk how to access the server with it wigging out on me the way it does. I understand that somehow it had extra things added and I can go back to my back up, but I don’t have a backup. I’d be fine with erasing it all and starting over. Thinking about moving to somewhere else where I can get some tech support and they can do it on my computer while I watch so that I can learn this stuff. Thanks so much for your help. I think I’m in over my head.

who’s your hosting with? get on to them and ask them to go in and delete the twentyten folder for you. or if you’ve not got a vast amount of stuff on the site and can move on and start over, just do that. there are some great hosting companies out there and i personally use hostgator but shop about and find one you like.

if you do start over on a different hosting company you’ll need to repoint your domain name to the new host. it’s not too much of a process. if you’ve got you domain name with the same people you’ve got hosting with at the moment you can either keep it with them or transfer that to another domain registrar.

    good luck dude…

Thanks so much. That was very helpful. I’m with GoDaddy right now.
