I just installed a fresh installation of wordpress on a new server. I have no plugins and no themes installed except those that came with the installation. I am unable to reorder menus, widgets, even open the screen options tab. I am sure this is a server issue since I am running this same WP version on my host with no problems using the same browser, etc. There HAS to be some setting on this new server this is not configured correctly for WordPress. Can anyone help??

Finally found a fix from an old post, in case this is happening to anyone else. Install the plugin Use Google Libraries. http://wordpress.org/plugins/use-google-libraries/

This is a bizarre fix to me; the WordPress libraries were insufficient for WordPress to function? Would you please also provide the link to the old post that explains why this plugin works in this case? I'm curious.

  4. Lots of changes from WP 3.5.1 forward regarding javascript. Lots and lots of plugins and themes had to "recode" their products.

Might also want to give this a read:

But you said you were running a clean version of WordPress. That's why I'm surprised. Are you saying that the problem was the mod_pagespeed thing?

Here is the link I found:

This IS a fresh installation on a client's server with no plugins or themes. The only thing I can think of is if there was some legacy software or previous installation on that server (since I don't have access to it and don't know the history) that was messing things up. I'm not extremely technical, so I don't understand why it's working... just happy to have found a fix!!
