    Google changed their permissions system, and you probably need to re-authenticate first.

    Read here for more information: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-can-no-longer-download-or-restore-from-a-google-drive-backup/

    Hi David, unfortunately, this did not resolve my problem. I tried restoring a few times tonight. Worked once, nicely I might add, but the rest of the attempts all yielded "Error: Download failed. Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?)"

    I keep clicking Save Changes and after the refresh clicking the link that says click here to reauthenticate but it doesnt resolve the issue. Any other ideas on how to solve this? (localhost WAMP Windows 7 64-bit) I should note that I have no problem doing the backup/restore with DropBox. But I want to use GoogleDrive....

    Hi metrosuperstar,

    Your site is on localhost? That can't work. Note the paragraph at the top of the instructions for setting up Google Drive:

    Note: The Google Drive authentication procedure requires that your website has a publicly reachable address (i.e. the http://etc… link can be reached from the Internet). Therefore, it does not work for websites on local development machines that are not reachable from the Internet. (Use Dropbox, Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, DreamObjects, FTP, SFTP or WebDAV instead).

    Are you saying that Google Drive cannot restore, backup, or do both when requesting from localhost?

    Google Drive's authentication procedure is incompatible with a website hosted on localhost, and therefore Google Drive backups cannot be used at all for such websites.

    Well, the reason I ask is because I succesfully created backups to Google Drive from my localhost yesterday (for all 5 sites), and the reason I posted here was because I didnt understand why I was able to do a restore only once. Thats why I asked for clarification - because its possible to do the backup (yes I confirmed by logging into my Google Drive), but it seems that the restore process is finicky, as it worked only once.

    ISSUE:

    If you use same Project with diffrent clients id, on multiple websites, you will get this error:

    Google Drive error when requesting access token: response does not contain access_token

    (invalid_grant)

    During some previous OAuth changes the flow was altered to return the existing OAuth access token if the same application requests multiple times (ass stated in comment #2). This should allow two instances of the same application to have access to a single account, which was the initial reason for the request.

    https://code.google.com/p/twitter-api/issues/detail?id=372

    FIX: gdrive_auth_revoke function should not be used in updraftplus/method/googledrive.php, because it will reset token

    public static function gdrive_auth_revoke() {
    	    return;
    }

    Note: The limit for each unique pair of OAuth 2.0 client and Google Analytics account is 25 refresh tokens.
