   I can't seem to createa slug called "blog". It puts it as blog-2 instead.

   Why is that?

   Found an answer. :)

   you have other versions of the webpage in your trash you need to delete

   page->edit

   at the top is a link to get to the trash, go in there and delete the trashed copies

   This one threw me for a (quick) loop. I now check the trash, habitually.
