• Resolved doubleedesign

    (@doubleedesign)

    Hi,

I’m having an issue where the Insert Link function in the post/page editing screen does nothing when clicking on “Link to existing content” does nothing, and clicking Insert Link after adding the link URL manually takes me to the Posts page (and the link still isn’t there).

I’m working on two websites at the moment which are using child themes of the same base theme. The second one, which I started working on yesterday, was essentially a duplicate of the parent + child theme of the first one and then I have started to further customise it but only with HTML and CSS. When the issue appeared I deactivated all plugins but it still occurred.

Website 1 was running WP 3.4.2. I basically cloned that site to create Website 2, which I then upgraded to 3.5. Upon discovering the issue I reverted back to 3.4.2 and the issue no longer occurs.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be most appreciated!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Thanks for the quick reply, most appreciated!

    Yep, tried deactivating all plugins.
Just tried it with TwentyTwelve and it’s fine – so it must be theme-specific. It’s a premium theme so I’ll contact the author and post back here when I know what the solution is.

Thanks for the top about resetting the plugins folder, by the way.

Upgrading to an updated version of the theme released just recently solved the issue 🙂 The changelog doesn’t mention it so unfortunately I can’t comment further.

However for anyone who comes across the same issue, this was SuperSkeleton 2.0.4; upgrading to 2.0.6 solved the issue. 🙂
