Can't Connect To WordPress.Com to install Askimet or Stats?! (2 posts)

I have 6 self-hosted wordpress blogs on my website. I recently created two more last night, but they are not showing up under "My Blogs" on wordpress.com. This problem started last night, out of nowhere.

I'm unable to install WordPress Stats, or Askimet. I'm getting a message that says: Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com.

The RSS feeds on the "dashboard" pages aren't working either. I'm getting an error message in the box that says "An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later."

Any idea what's going on? Huge issue for me and I've put hours into it with no avail.

The bits you are talking about all have one thing in common: They require the webserver to talk outside to another webserver elsewhere. So it sounds to me like your host/server is not allowing outgoing connections. You might be firewalled or some such thing.
