    Hi Michael,

Thanks for hopping in the forum. That is definitely a weird error. There are a few things you might want to try to see if it’s a problem with ‘All in One WP Security and Firewall’.

Taking a quick look in that plugins settings, it seems there’s an option to temporarily disable the Security and Firewall on the settings page. Try to disable those then connect MailChimp plugin again. Also you might want to try whitelisting the ip address that the MailChimp plugin uses to connect with MailChimp: 50.97.194.22 and make sure you can connect to sopresto.socialize-this.com

If that doesn’t work, could you tell us where in the login process that error appears. Is it after you enter in your username and password in the popup window? And can you email us a link to your MailChimp signup form or the username on your MailChimp account. Send that to wordpress[at]mailchimp[dot]com

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Hi,
I had to disable all firewall rules AND security feature on the settings page of ‘All in One WP Security and Firewall’ to be able to log in.
I don’t see where I can whitelist the mailchimp IP.
The error appears after I enter my username and password in the popup window.

    Hey Michael,

Thanks for getting back to us. After looking through available documentation, we weren’t able to determine how best to troubleshoot a blocked outgoing connection within the ‘All In One WP Security and Firewall’ plugin. We recommend checking out that plugin’s support page to see if they can suggest how best to whitelist outgoing connections to 50.97.194.22 and sopresto.socialize-this.com

Successful outgoing connections to that IP and URL should do the trick.

That plugin’s support forum is here: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Oops! I meant to say to check for whitelisting *incoming* connections, as well, since the error appears to be occurring when posting to your domain.

I don’t see an option in “all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall” to put adresses on a whitelist. There is only a whitelist for login ip.

    Hey Michael,

While we’d really love to assist further, in this case it appears something in the plugin is blocking the necessary traffic and we wouldn’t be able to find what the particular configuration element in that plugin is. We can help with relating to what the traffic itself is that needs to be allowed, but our ability to assist with how to get that enabled is a bit limited.

If you do have any other questions we might be able to answer, please feel free to ask. We’ll be glad to offer any details we can.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

    Hi,
the problem couldn’t be solved from the “all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall” plugin support either. I’m not using the mailchimp plugin anymore at the moment, so the problem is solved for me.

    Thanks for helping
    Michael
