Can't comment or access Dashboard (4 posts)

Since a few weeks ago I've had problems with my WordPress blog.

    1) At times, I can't post comments. Other uses have complained about the same thing. When you click on "submitt comment" either the IE screen goes blank or in Firefox you get the dialog to open the php file (wp-postcomment or something). In any case, the comment is never posted.

    2) When you click on the "Site Admin" link, a blank screen appears instead of being able to access the Dashboard. The only way I can access the Dashboard is by editing an existing post and then accessing it through that (and even then I get errors)

Now, before anyone says "disable your plugins", I already made a CLEAN install of WP 2.0.4 without any plugins activated. I have also repaired the mySQL database for any overhead. I have also switched back to the default Kubrick template to no avail, comments still don't work and I am banging my head on the wall because of this.

    What could be the problem?

Check to see if you have other index pages. You should have index.php in the root of your WP. if you have index.htm, html, asp or anything else, rename it or delete. That was my problem a while back.

While checking around, see if your host recently turned on mod_security.

Gather up your php and mysql versions and compare them to the WP requirements at http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
