Can't Change URL (11 posts)

I am trying to change my URL. From what I have researched what you do is go to Settings > General, and then in general there is a "WordPress address (URL)" and "Site address (URL)". When I try to find it there is nothing. My problem is that the only way to access my website is by adding /wp/ to the end of the URL. Any help would be great. I have tried on my own to figure it out and had no luck.

When you log in in wordpress do see any network drop-down on left top bar My Sites.

Yes. When I go to Admin > Users it says "super admin" beside my user name.

You could install a new wordpress and export your content and import in new single install wordpress.

    Hello govpatel,
I deleted my old WordPress and installed 2 or 3 new WordPress installs before I figures out what I had done (or not done). My Host uses Softaculous and when you install WordPress it has a field as follows:---- In Directory
The directory is relative to your domain and should not exist. e.g. To install at http://mydomain/dir/ just type dir. To install only in http://mydomain/ leave this empty. ----
Anyways it is auto-filled with "wp" (which is stupid I think). This is why I had /wp/ at the end of my address.

Also, I had checked the box "Enable Multisite". Being totally new to WordPress I thought, why not do multisite, how could that be bad?

Anyways, thank you very much for taking the time to help me out. I will try again :)

I wonder why you had multisite installed not knowing what it is with multisite you can have more wordpress blogs created with out installing another wordpress and share the database on all blogs.

If you are installing wordpress without any content then you will need to install wordpress in root so that you do not have /wp in url.

If you want simple wordpress you do not tick "Enable Multisite"
