Easy Google Fonts
[resolved] Can't Change Subject Line Color (6 posts)

I love the plugin. It was easy to use but I'm stuck on changing color and size of the font on the subject line (called Heading 1). I was able to change the font and font size yesterday but unable to change the colors. I'm able to change the color of the text in the "paragraphs" section.

I'd really like to add a little color to the site. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marc,
It sounds like your theme is overriding the styles generated by this plugin. This plugin allows you to create custom font controls in the admin area which will allow you to control any element on the page. Can you provide a link to your website so that I can give you some instructions on how to solve your issue.

    Sunny,

Thanks so much for the quick response. The website is http://www.edgevegas.com. I'm using the Genesis platform with no child theme right now.

    Hi Marc,
The plugin is actually functioning correctly, you just need to create a more specific control. Here is one example:

Instructions on creating the custom control

    • Log in to your WordPress admin area and go to: Settings > Google Fonts
    • Click create new font control and give your font control a name e.g Post Headings and click the Create Font Control button. (If no other custom font controls exist then it will take you straight to the add new control screen)
    • Once you have created your new font control enter the following text in the Add CSS Selectors input box: h1.entry-title a (Press tab after each selector)
    • Click the Save Font Control button
    • Visit the customizer and you will see your new font control which will allow you to control the post headings

The instructions are the same for each font control that you would create. The only difference would be the name of the control and the css selectors that it is controlling. If you don't have any CSS knowledge any basic developer should be able to give you a hand with it. Give it a go with something else e.g. the widget titles etc and let me know how you get on.

I saw a similar question in another post here but whatever I did this time was correct. This worked like a charm! Thank you!

    Hi Marc,
Glad you've got it all working. Also, was just wondering if you could rate this plugin on WordPress when you get a moment. Thanks

    Sunny
