   I want to change the permalink of several of my static pages. Per the WordPress instruction manual I went to pages and selected Edit under the name of the page, and then Edit beside the URL. A box comes opens up, but when I select "Okay" to finalize the change, it reverts back to the original URL.

   Hi - I am using HostMonster and have the same problem - I have read the article thoroughly and cannot see what I am supposed to do ...

   Worked it out - I had a couple of previous versions of the page in 'trash' - when I permanently deleted the old versions it then allowed me to name it properly
   - I was trying to name it "about" and it kept returning to "about-3"
   - When I deleted the old versions of "about" from trash it then allowed me to name the live page "about"
