    I tried to add text outside of wrapper in the twenty ten theme but the wrapper keeps expanding and my text ends up inside the wrapper.

    my code is below. please help.

    `<?php
    /**
    * The template for displaying the footer.
    *
    * Contains the closing of the id=main div and all content
    * after. Calls sidebar-footer.php for bottom widgets.
    *
    * @package WordPress
    * @subpackage Twenty_Ten
    * @since Twenty Ten 1.0
    */
    ?>
    </div><!-- #main -->
    <div id="colophon">
    <div id="footer" role="contentinfo">

    <?php
    /* A sidebar in the footer? Yep. You can can customize
    * your footer with four columns of widgets.
    */
    get_sidebar( 'footer' );
    ?>

    <div id="site-info">

    </div><!-- #site-info -->

    <div id="site-generator">
    </div><!-- #site-generator -->

    </div><!-- #colophon -->
    </div><!-- #footer -->

    </div><!-- #wrapper -->
    <div class="left-blank"><?php _e('This space intentionally left blank.'); ?></div>

    <?php
    /* Always have wp_footer() just before the closing </body>
    * tag of your theme, or you will break many plugins, which
    * generally use this hook to reference JavaScript files.
    */

    wp_footer();
    ?>
    test2
    </body>test3
    </html>
