• Anyone encounter a blank white admin screen after an upgrade?

I’m not sure if its plugin related although I only had All in One SEO installed and havent had problems with it in the past.

    Thoughts?

  • I have the same problem. I can’t access the dashboard. I’ve deactivated all plugins, but it didn’t make a difference. I was able to access the admin panel right after upgrade, but now I can’t gain access. Someone HELP!! Please!!

See my post on same subject. But…I did not upgrade to 2.8.5.

I am still on 2.8.4 (via my host Powweb).

My ADMIN screen is BLANK (white) and while the other pages show on the web, I have no way of editing etc. (Details in my post: “Admin Blank..”

gillsans & crazywoman6, you might have an incompatible plugin that’s conflicting with the upgraded version of WordPress. Try renaming your plugins folder temporarily to see if that’s causing the problem.

Otherwise, if you’ve just upgraded WordPress itself, I think my next step would be to re-upload WordPress again manually in case it’s not all gone according to plan first time around.

    Full instructions for that here:

Steady Hand, I think yours is almost definitely a plugin issue, so see other thread.

I renamed the plugin directory and still blank.

All of my plug ins are deactivated, but it’s still blank.

Rebuild wp_options using table first….see if that fixes it. That would be the first suspect….you can google it.

Besides plugins would anything else cause this?

My problem was the plugins. I deleted them and reinstalled them and I am not up an editing again. Good luck with yours. πŸ™‚

gillsans – How did you upgrade? Auto or did you do it manually?

I’d try a manual upgrade, just for grins.

I had the same problem doing an auto upgrade to 2.9.2. Manual reinstall didn’t help. I solved it by renaming the Plugins directory which deactivated all of them. Then I systematically turned them on until I found the culprit, which was Google Analytics (haven’t solved that problem yet).

I found out I was hacked into when I saw a different login page. Happened twice in less than 2 weeks.

same thing happens to my site… after I updated to 2.9.2, any solutions yet?

ok in my case, i just recently notice that there’s nothing really wrong about the updates, its just happens that the server I’m hosting my site is server down, after day it goes back without doing nothing… hope this can help… πŸ˜‰

It was something about the plugins for me. I simply renamed the plugins folder to plugins2, logged in successfully to my wp-admin dashboard, then renamed it back to plugins. So far, I’m navigating around just fine. Let’s see how long it lasts before I am forced to narrow down which plugin is the offender.
