I just installed WordPress through my registrar’s sofware install tool – softaculous. Everything installed correct except I can’t access my admin login page, wp-admin.

This is a fresh install – no plugins, nada. Error reads:

Oops! This link appears to be broken.
    Did you mean: localho.st
    Additional suggestions:
    Go to localhost.net
    Go to localhost.us
    Search on Google:

Any ideas as to what I can do to address this?

  • What is your website URL? Can you view your website?

This often happens with one-click installers such as softaculous because all the files and folders may not be correctly and completely installed.

Did you try to uninstall WordPress and reinstall using the same tool?
Do you get error messages – typically error establishing database connection?
Who is your hosting provider? Site URL?

Sorry, completely forgot the URL. It is bigchez.com, my host is ANhosting

    I have tried 2 re-installs, nothing doing.

No error messages, it goes to a “Page cannot be displayed” when redirecting to the login page.

I’ve worked with a few wordpress installs previously, first time I’ve had these kinds of issues.

So I did some messing around – when I install wordpress in it’s own directory I can access the login page – when I install it in the root directory it tries to redirect to my localhost

I changed my .htaccess file to redirect to the wordpress instance at /wordpress/ – working now.
