All of the sudden I am having issues accessing my website and dashboard. First I need to explain my set up. My website (let’s call it http://www.example.com) uses WordPress. I wanted to create a subsite that only my salesman could use, so I created a folder for sales and installed in WordPress in the folder to create a subsite. I then password-protected folder. So the subsite is now http://www.example.com/sales.

Everything was working perfectly fine. Then all of a sudden if I tried to access any part of my subsite http://www.example.com/sales I am redirected to a page on my main site http://www.example.com. No matter what page I tried to access on the subsite I am redirected to the same page on the main site. If I tried to access my login for my subsite http://www.example.com/sales/wp–admin to log into the dashboard I get redirected to a WordPress page that says “no update required your database is already up to date” the URL for this page is http://www.example.com/wp–admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fsale%2Fwp-admin%2F

any thoughts on what could be causing this issue? I’ve tried changing my theme the twentyten theme. I’ve tried renaming my plug-ins page. I deactivated my plug-ins one by one. I haven’t tried downgrading my WordPress version because I’m not entirely sure how to do that. But any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I would love any advice or suggestions or help anyone could give. I would greatly appreciate it. I am not opposed to starting from scratch if necessary. I would just like advice as to how to go about that in the best way. I know I can back up my site from the FTP, what about my database? Thank you

    Greetings,

I uploaded a new theme (pr-news) to try out on my website when I received the following error message: fatal error: cannot redeclare options framework. Now I receive this message every time I try to access my website. Why is this happening, and is there any way to retrieve my site, so that I don’t have to create a new one? Thanks.

By the way, my site is mamaafricamagazine.com

It is impolite to strap hang on anothers post. Please start your own.

Thank you for responding. I don’t post real URLs because the sales site is password protected. I didn’t know what to do so I thought I would just use an example. What should I post?

I was wondering could this be a HTaccess file issue? Because no matter what page I go to all my sales page I am redirected back to my main site.

    Thank you

    kmessinger,

Thank you kindly for your response. I am fairly new to WordPress, and this is my very first attempt to post a forum for support. Therefore, please understand that it was not my intention to be impolite and “strap hang” on another’s post.

Thank you also for including the link to where I can start my own forum post.

    Best regards,
    Chelsie

Could be the htaccess. Did you follow these instructions
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network ?

    kmessinger,

Thank you for you kind reply. I actually followed the first link you posted above, and created my own forum topic. I received a reply there, followed the instructions, and now my website is in proper working order. Thank you again for your help!

    Best,
    Chelsie
