I just updated W3TC on http://www.similestack.com and although the home page seems to work fine, I can't access /wp-admin at all. I get the following error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'FileOperationException' with message '/home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/w3tc-config/master.php could not be created, please run following command:

    • <strong style="color: #f00;">chmod 777 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/cache/tmp
    • <strong style="color: #f00;">chmod 777 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/w3tc-config
    • ' in /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/activation.php:127 Stack trace: #0 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/ConfigWriter.php(159): w3_throw_on_write_error('/home/audisite/...', Array) #1 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Config.php(71): W3_ConfigWriter->save() #2 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/CloudFlare.php(174): W3_Config->save() #3 /home/audisite/public_ in /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/activation.php on line 127

I went into FTP to rename all the W3TC folders and files in wp-content and once I do it works fine, but the new W3TC won't let me access my dashboard.

I do have Cloudflare installed which I think is part of the problem but it's obvious that the bug is on W3TC's side.

    Please help! Thank you.

    Try to:

    1)
    Remove:
    wp-content/advanced-cache.php
    wp-content/db.php
    wp-content/w3tc/
    wp-content/w3-total-cache-config.php
    wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/

If you want to remove w3tc manually

    2)
    chmod 777 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/cache/tmp
    chmod 777 /home/audisite/public_html/similestack.com/wp-content/w3tc-config

as advised in the error. If you want to keep your w3tc.

    HTH,

    Hi Frederick and co,

I have the same issue. At first I got the Fatal Error: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'FileOperationException' with message '....../wp-content/w3tc-config/master.php could not be created'.

After I created the blank master.php and chmod 777 everything on there, I just got a blank page: http://galleryhelios.com/mindbody/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade".

I cant get into the back end at all even though the site seems to be still running. Help please.
