   Thanks for looking at my post. So, being the noob I am, I messed with the WordPress address (URL) under Settings>General and now I cant get to my dashboard to reverse the damage. What can I do?

   When I go to my dashboard, I get this error message:
   "Page Not Found

   The page you tried to access does not exist on this server. This page may not exist due to the following reasons:

   You are the owner of this web site and you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information.

   The URL that you have entered in your browser is incorrect. Please re-enter the URL and try again.

   The Link that you clicked on incorrectly points to this page. Please contact the owner of this web site to inform them of this situation."

   To be clear: I can still visit my site, I just cant get to my dashboard to edit it. And exactly what i did was change my URL from http://doratexas.com/wordpress to http://doratexas.com/wordpress/home

   Also, my site looks very little like it did before I did this. It still has the same content but none of the same format.

   Hi, I read this and added the following lines to functions.php to try to fix it:
   update_option('siteurl','http://amerghin-music.com/wordpress');
   update_option('home','http://amerghin-music.com/wordpress');

   Still not working. I see that your site looks like it has been fixed. Did you fix it by modifying functions.php?

   ya i altered functions.php like it says in the codex and it worked

   My problem seems to be exactly the same as you mentioned, and i have tried what you said that you tried that appeared to work for you. I am entering:
   update_option('siteurl','http://pinklilliesandbg.com/wordpress');
   update_option('home','http://pinklilliesandbg.com/wordpress');

   when i do this i get an error message and my blog does not come up. Can you advise if this is exactly what you did or if it is possibly a slight mistake i am making. I cant access anything and i am one step away from having to uninstall and lose everything !!

   All I did was edit my functions.php file like it says in the codex. The only thing I can say is tryrefreshing a few times, it took a couple of minutes for my site to come back online. Also, I could still access my site, I just couldn't get to the dashboard, so it is possible you are experiencing a different issue.

   Well i restored it in my PHP file and i lost some content but i still cant get the dashboard back. I just redid it again and now i have logged out and logged in a few times to see if that works. maybe i will just leave it and try it again tomorrow. I am not sure what else to do. I also saw something about modifying the database. Did you do anything with that at all or just the codex?

   Na I just followed the codex. Ya definitely sleep on it before you do anything rash. My initial post was made after I had already tried the method suggested in the codex but I messed up because I was freaking out. Woke up the next morning and fixed it in 15 minutes

    sounds like good advice. maybe i will undo what i have done and try this with a clear head in the AM. Thanks a bunch! :)
