I am unable to access my WordPress blog. When I go to my login page I am presented with the normal WordPress userid and password screen except that at the top of the screen is this:
Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in /home/bshannon/public_html/wp-content/plugins/digiproveblog/CopyrightProof.php on line 810 and defined in /home/bshannon/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 990

What do I need to do to fix this? I'm not a geek so any help for a "bright 8th grader" would be helpful. If nothing else, is there is a clear and relatively simple way to delete the site, so that I can start over?

    Thanks for any help,

    Brendan Shannon

  2. Have you tried:
    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the 2010 theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

  3. Use FTP to delete the digiproveblog and wp-greet-box and wassup plugins; they're not compatible with WordPress 3.5.

See http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-35-master-list?replies=4 and Filezilla and FTP Clients « WordPress Codex.

    Brendan,

Sounds like you've just upgraded to WordPress 3.5 without upgrading your plugins first. At 3.5, WP introduced a validation that trips up many plugins, including Copyright Proof, leading to these error messages. At this stage most plugins have been updated to deal with the problem and indeed the upcoming 3.5.1 of WordPress (which is available in RC form) contains a solution.

Upgrading to WordPress 3.5.1 or upgrading to version 2.13 of Copyright Proof is the solution, but first you have to get past the login problem - you will need folder-level access:

Delete the directory digiproveblog, the usual location is /wp-content/plugins from your wordpress directory. This will remove all the plugin code.

Once you do that you should be able to log in, then you can re-install the latest version (2.13) of Copyright Proof.

    Regards
    Gerry
