I've been using WordPress since the beginning of this year. On occasion I've lost access to the admin area, but have managed to gain access again by re-uploading the files, removing plugins etc. However, this time I seem to be stuck. I've re-uploaded all the files (in ASCII mode and auto mode) and changed the name of the plugin directory, but when I try to access the admin area, I just get sent to a regular page on my website. I've been trying to get it working for the last two days, and in the process may have made it worse, but if someone could offer some suggestions on how to get it fixed, that would be great!
My website is located at http://www.maccrazy.net and the WordPress files are located in the directory http://www.maccrazy.net/wordpress/. Try to access the admin area (http://www.maccrazy.net/wordpress/wp-admin/), and you will see what I mean.
The other thing I want to check is where there are supposed to be .htaccess files. I found one in my public_html directory and one in my wordpress directory. I want the files stored in the wordpress directory, but the rewrites to work so that the address is maccrazy.net/2008/05/06/breaking-vodafone-bringing-iphone-to-new-zealand-australia-and-others/ etc
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
