ThreeWP Broadcast
[resolved] Canonical URLs? (7 posts)

    Hi all,

Cool looking plugin. Looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for. But two quick questions:

    1) is this for WPMU only? Will it work across two separate WP installations?

    2) does the plugin automatically create canonical URLs? Duplicating content across multiple sites can hurt SEO, and I'd like to indicate to Google that the parent post ought to get the sweet, sweet Google juice.

    Thanks!

Yeah, having the ability to automticly create canonnical urls would be great. So if i want to broadcast from child site to parent site, i'd like to have canonical url (or perhaps 301 redirect) point to my child site to avoid duplicate content.

At the moment i solved this with Yoast SEO plugin where i have to enter the cannonical url manually for each broadcasted post.

    Thank you

Glad to hear it! But it still leaves one of my questions unanswered:

Is this plugin for MU only? Or will it work for two separate WP installations?

    Thanks!

I do not believe this works for two separate WP installations. I suggest you find another plugin to auto post/broadcast RSS feeds from one blog to another...

Yeah. Broadcasting to other installations is WAY beyond the scope of Broadcast.

Use WP Syndicate or something for that.

    Marking as resolved.

Thanks. Unfortunately, something like an auto-post or syndicate plugin won't work, because it's not every post that I want cross posted.

It would be great functionality if that's something you can build into a future version!
