I cannot view the images I have uploaded to customize my site. My server is running PHP version 5.4.23 and MySQL version 5.1.71. I know my images have been uploaded because I see the image icon in my uploads folder. All of my permissions have been changed so everything is writable. When I try to preview or view my site only the image icon appears, not the image. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Could you share a link to your site that's having problems, and an example image that can't be loaded? If not, it would be great to have a more specific description of what happens when you try to visit the URL of an image you've uploaded - do you get a 404 / not found error, or something else?

Are you uploading images through WordPress's media upload feature, or are you managing images directly through FTP or some other method?

The website I am working on is
    http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~bwellma/Flaherty/wordpress/index
I am trying to upload images from my computer, none from the internet, using WordPress' upload feature to create a custom header. I am not trying to upload the picture as a post.

Hi. Thanks for the link. I tried looking for broken images on the page you sent and didn't see any, but I did see three CSS files that aren't able to load because they're not found on the server:

    http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~bwellma/Flaherty/wordpress/wp-content/themes/forestry-3/js/flexslider.css?ver=3.8.1
    http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~bwellma/Flaherty/wordpress/wp-content/themes/forestry-3/js/jquery.flexslider-min.js?ver=3.8.1
    http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~bwellma/Flaherty/wordpress/wp-content/themes/forestry-3/js/flexslider-init.js?ver=3.8.1

It may be that your "forestry-3" theme folder is incomplete or corrupt. If it's the theme that controls the display of the header image you're trying to upload, and the theme is having problems, that could be the reason you're not seeing the image you expect. You might try re-installing/uploading the theme files and make sure they're all there.

Otherwise, is there a URL you can share of an image as it exists in the uploads folder that is still not working?

I created a child theme from the previous theme "Striker" but even when switching to the original themes the uploads did not work. I tried re-installing the themes folder but it did not show the pictures again. Here is an image I tried to upload http://pichost.me/1336990/
