I am unable to upload Photographs on the Theme 2012 which boasts the new super dooper Photo Technology
Some indication of why and what error messages you see would help. We are good but we are not psychic.
I have yet to find meaningful help on the pages of these support Forums
Apart from this topic, you have only posted 2 other topics & both were answered extremely quickly.
If you read what I wrote Esmi you will see that I was in fact referring to the written word!! There is no error message I Press the Add Media Button I am Taken to the Insert Media Page where non of the options does anything i.e. it does not work!!!
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
Thank you for your help. I deactivated plugins this did not appear to be the problem, I think mine is the default theme. As for attempting the other procedures which you have suggested this is I feel quite beyond my capabilities, I shall do without Photographs until the theme is updated and then perhaps it will work properly.
You will deny this but for the average person Word press is not at all easy or straightforward to use. Hence my point about only having been able to get my Blog running due to the plethora of Videos on You Tube, had it not been for this I would long since have abandoned the project.
I would go so far as to say that what pertains on Word press is computer speak elitism, where the poor old user to whom the help pages appear as unintelligible Gobbledygook is left feeling completely inadequate, I would be interested to know how many people who may have had wonderful Ideas for a Blog simply give up for the reasons stated above!!

To be fair, we have no idea on what was done to your install. We don’t know what plugins were installed or what other edits were done. Obviously something was done and the suggestions given should help. I understand that it is easy for people to get in over their heads since they can add plugins that may not be coded well. Troubleshooting is working backwards from what was done until the issue disappears. Hopefully some of this will help.
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I appreciate your point and in fact it is probably a waste of your time (and any one else’s) offering help as the chances are I will not be capable of doing what you suggest!!
I love having my own Blog but am quite incapable of doing anything in the least bit complex on it. My point is I am pretty sure that their are many people like me on Word press who simply do not have the ability to maintain their site. And I imagine their are many more who have simply given up!!
I seem to remember a while back being asked to take a quick survey regarding where I went for help on Word press,So it seems someone must be interested!! well it would definitely not be any of the help pages and Articles as I find them unintelligible, my answer regarding where I go for help would have to be U-tube!!

There’s a compromise you should make between learning how to do things yourself and hiring someone to do it for you. There are many people on WordPress that are not tech-savvy and therefore hire people to do the work for them.
Thank You Andrew I had not really thought about that. I imagine that this may eventually be what I will have to do although the idea was originally to try and make money from the Blog not spend money on it!!
Living in Thailand and watching the Collapse of Sterling makes me loathe to commit to spending money. I think for the time being I will just manage without photographs.
