Hello,
A couple of months ago I started to get an error when I tried to update the [then] only plugin which had an available update. I have been searching for a solution since but nothing that I have tried has worked.
The error that I encounter with every plugin that now requires an upgrade is:
Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
I can update them all by manually downloading each zip file, but as I'm lazy (I know, it's a terrible thing!) and the list of plugins that require updating grows ever longer I am loathed to manually update each and every one.
These are the things that I have tried, all of which I found on these support pages:
Replacing the http.php
Adding a line about memory usage to wp-config.php
Adding an extra line to my .htaccess (doing that caused a 500 internal server error on every page of my domain)
I deleted a load of stuff from my hosting account, but both before and afterwards I was still using less than 50% of my available storage space.
I made sure I was using the correct version of PHP for each plugin.
I downloaded the .zip files that WP was requesting to make sure they were not damaged, and they weren't.
I am using WP 2.9.2 (which oddly is not an option on the drop down box for this post?) and this error kicked up for the first time a couple of months back, but I hadn't changed anything to precipitate this.
Do you really clever and helpful guys think there's anything I can do to fix it, or should I be getting onto my hosts now that I seem to have exhausted all of the suggestions on here?
Thanks for all of your help :D
