   Hi. I am just setting up my WordPress, and I've set up some categories, including "Downloads", "Test", "Friends" and "Music". Within "Music", I have a subcategory of "Mixes".

   When I go to Write a new post in wp-admin, not all of these categories appear in the list at the side. "Test" and "Downloads" appear, but the others don't. (there is 1 post in Downloads, but 0 in Test, and no Blogroll links either)

   So I manually added "Mixes" as a category to the new Post, by typing the name into the Categories box on the right. Then I went back to Manage Posts, and the list showed that the new post was in the Mixes category. But now when I go to Edit the post, Mixes still doesn't appear in the list on the right, so I can't remove it from that category.

   Can anyone help?

   I don't have any plugins installed.

   Sorry, forgot to also add that when I went back to Edit the Post I also tried to add "friends" as a category (by typing the name into the Categories box) but back on the Manage Posts screen the post still just shows as being part of the "Mixes" category.
