I cannot delete images in my library for example. I cannot delete posts. In my theme editor, it show the wrong "current theme" than the actual theme currently functioning.
In the slideshow on the front page you will see two images for example.
Now, if i use FTP and delete the files there it will show broken image links.
Ive tried recreating hte slide show but that really isnt the problem.
The problem exists on another level, cant figure it out. Please help.
You insight will be appreciated. THank you. J

If you use WordPress and aren't uploading dozens of images at at time, why use FTP?

Within the admin panel, I try to delete images or pages... it is not possible. It keeps a "ghost" of it (shows as if still there when it is not). This shows as a broken link.
So, I use FTP to delete. Still keeps a register of the item. Does that explain it?
Posts are not saved on your filesystem, they're in your DATABASE.
When you delete pages, the images stay. If you delete images from the media panel, that deletes them off your DB.
How are you deleteing images?

Im trying to delete images through the wp-admin. Since that didnt work I tried through FTP. But I cannot delete anything.
I think your answer is that my problem is with the database.
I need to fix that somehow, not sure how. Will look into it.
Thanks. J
WHERE in WP Admin? :)
Are you going wp-admin -> Media Library and in THERE deleteing the images or what?

precisely. And respectively, in Posts to "try" to delete posts, and Pages to "try" and delete pages.
Okay. We're talking about a couple different things :)
1) Deleting posts (and pages) deletes them from the DB. There are no 'files' to be deleted.
2) Deleting posts and pages doesn't delete attached media.
3) Only deleting media directly (i.e. via the media library) will delete media.
So if NOTHING is getting deleted, it's your DB.

That is it precisely. NOTHING is getting deleted.
I understand that the images wont be deleted when a page is deleted.
I will investigate my database. Thank you for your time.
