    Hi there,

I uploaded all the files to my subdomain, including the wp-admin/install.php. However, when I try to open it in firefox, it gives me the pop up window of saving it or open with. Since I have dreamweaver at home, it opened at dreamweaver. (not editable)
same thing happen when I try to open with explorer.

Then today i tried to open from work, it's the same thing. It giave the pop up window saying: "do you want to save this file or find a program online to open it"

I checked with my service and I do get php as well as MySQL, if the problem is reading the php files on the database.

Anybody have the similar experience? or know hoe to resolve it?
This is my first website, so pardon me for lack of technical details. =D

    Thanks-

You should be following these instructions.

You can open php files in any text editor like Wordpad. You can also open in Dreamweaver. If you are getting read only files in DW, I suspect your permissions are wrong somewhere.

If done correctly you should be able to open http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php this in any browser. If you get a message about what program should be used to open, you should be able to select a program. In this case either FF or IE.

There's also the possibility PHP is not configured correctly.

Follow the procedure at Finding_Server_Info to confirm PHP is working.

    kmessinger & MichaelH,

Thanks for the input. I'll try to see if the PHP is compatible / working.

I asked my host about the PHP problem and they said the problem was my subdomain is not set up to use PHP yet. They have it working now, so we'll see what happen...
