Cannot navigate past the home page with custom permalinks (4 posts)

About a week before I upgraded to WordPress 2.5, I found that I couldn't navigate away from my home page unless I changed the permalinks to default (e.g. p=59 structure).

I upgraded to WordPress 2.5, and the problem remained. I've tried changing themes, disabling plug-ins, deleting and creating a new .htaccess file, and I cannot seem to get month/title permalinks working.

    I'm hosting this on netfirms.

    Any ideas?

have you created the .htaccess file according to what wordpress told you to after you changed the permalink structure?

That's the keyword! The feature simply sucks on their server.

Thanks to you both for the replies.

When I re-created the .htaccess file, all I did was delete it from the server, and then select the desired permalinks structure. WordPress automatically created an .htaccess file. Are there other instructions I should be following?

And thanks for the tip re. joelika's posts.
