• I’m having an extremely difficult time changing the layout / template of one of my Woocommerce categories.

I spent hours yesterday trying to figure it out. I came across a variety of posts talking about modifying the ‘taxonomy-product_cat.php’ file and including a SLUG to the end to match your category (ie: taxonomy-product_cat-MYCATEGORY.php”). I’ve tried this and no changes seem to occur to my category page. This file is linked to “archive-product.php” and I even tried to create an alternative archive page for the new custom template – BUT NO CHANGES.

Testing the various template files, the only one that seems to alter my category is the “content-product.php” file. This appears to be the same file that modifies the main /shop root page.

I tried adding a SLUG to the end of this file, but it appears that I can’t customize the category this way.

Does anyone have any suggestions??? I’m totally baffled about why I can’t figure this out…

I have one category where I’d like to display larger images and excerpts (in 1 column), instead of the standard 4 column, thumbnail layout…
