    Hi there.

I think that I have caused a problem that I do not know how to fix. I installed the plugin and all was proceeding nicely. I had not realised that the facility to lock out users would also lock me out. (I know… I know…) The issue is that I sign in with my user name and a password. The locked out issue is that it wants an e-mail address rather than a user name. I did not set this up specifically as I access the site as the administrator (not with an admin name though) and a password. I have never used my e-mail address to access the site.

A reinstalled software does not let me access the site but keeps generating an issue that declares I spent to much time logged on. I recall setting it to 60 minutes but had not expected it to lock me out when I was administering the site.

Any help will be very much appreciated. My site access was only returned after disabling plugins then deleting the troublesome one. Occasionally I use Aviator as my browser and it cannot access my site (which still demands my email address) even though Safari can access the site normally.

I can get into my site admin area by renaming the plugins folder and then it stays accessible for a while. My own user profile states an e-mail address for me but I have always been asked for a user name to access the site.

The All in One WP Security and Firewall plugin has been deleted but the plugin keeps asking me to login using my e-mail address. The e-mail address was never set up as the access to WP and I don’t know how to ensure that it has a password that matches my admin password when entering my user name.

PHP database access is not available to me through CPanel although I may be able to gain access by requesting the ISP to change something. I could also potentially edit the htaccess file.

Once the plugin was deleted I do not understand how it is able to continue to request an e-mail access to the site, when I never used it previously. I am sure that the plugin would be helpful if I could reset all that it had changed and then implement things in a more controlled manner. I think that when it showed my security as a number (often zero) I just wanted to improve matters and did it in a manner that was not sensible.

Hi Jeff Cable can you check your admin user profile just to make sure that it is still set with your original login credentials.

Have you tried to create another admin user? Have you tried to reinstall the plugin and select what features you want to change?

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards
