   Can someone please help me. I just created a wordpress website. I have tried to log in several times into my admin. I enter the right username & password but it keep saying invalid. I even tried to reset the password but it says that the email/username I provided doesn't exist. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

   Hi there! :)

   When you do a self-install or a 1-click install for WordPress, you usually should receive an email confirmation after the install is finished which basically welcomes you to WordPress and gives you the log-in information you signed up with.

   If you check your email, you should have received such an email and then you can use the information contained within to log in.

   Hi, I never received anything like that. Would that explain why my email/username is still unfounded ?

   That probably would explain something. At the very least, it indicates that something either went wrong in the install or that something went weird in setting up your username and password.

   Just to double check:

   - You ARE using a self-installed WordPress and not a WordPress.com account, right?

   - The install WAS successful, right?

   What version of WordPress do you have installed? Did you set up a custom username or did you use the default 'admin'?

   Yes, it is a self-installed WordPress. Installation was successful because I actually setup the website & was working on some changes to it. I am using the 3.0.1 version of WordPress. I am not sure about the custom/default admin.

   Hi there again!

   Thanks for confirming and thank you even more for detailing the issue. I unfortunately have no idea how to troubleshoot that particular problem, but I found a support thread in the Installation forum that might be of use.
