Is that the complete error message?

As for error messages, yes; that’s all I get when I try to log in while a plug-in (Complete Central Backup) is deactivated.
When the plug in is activated, the following error SHOWS on my HOME page:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /url/wordpress/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /url/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/complete-central-backup/complete_central_backup.php on line 62
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /url/wordpress/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /url/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/complete-central-backup/complete_central_backup.php on line 63
Another symptom I noticed is that I cannot access my password protected page.
The page asks for a password normally, but the url in the address bar has been switched to “/wp/?page_id=178” (not my test /wordpress/ directory where I clicked from) and after that, I get the following errors:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /url/wp/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /url/wp/wp-login.php on line 368
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /url/wp/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /url/wp/wp-login.php on line 380

Oddly enough, I can access the same page (enter password and display the page) on my localhost without errors.
headers already sent by (output started at /url/wordpress/wp-includes/post-template.php:1
That’s the bit that was missing previously. There’s an issue with one of your core files. What’s the site’s url?

I see. esmi, thanks for asking.
The site is at: http://injapanese.us/
I’m testing in the /wordpress/ folder, and am getting the following error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/i/n/j/injapanese/html/wordpress/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /home/content/i/n/j/injapanese/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/complete-central-backup/complete_central_backup.php on line 62

When I try to log in, the following error prevents me from opening the admin screen:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/i/n/j/injapanese/html/wordpress/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /home/content/i/n/j/injapanese/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/complete-central-backup/complete_central_backup.php on line 62

Thank you.
A scan of your site indicates that it hasn’t been hacked but can you post the first 3 or 4 lines of wp-includes/post-template.php here?

I can’t see any space or line. It starts like this:
<?php
/**
* WordPress Post Template Functions.
*
Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I just did that, but the problem persists.
The menu on the page at /wordpress/ still points to my /wp/ pages, but does that mean anything?

Sorry? I don’t follow. Have you previously moved this site?

My site is in the /wp/ folder and it was giving me the errors.
So I copied everything into my local site, and there were no errors. Other than the background and header images not showing, the local site works without a hitch.
So, I created a new directory at /wordpress/ and copied everything there, to find that the error seen at /wp/ directory happens there again.
As per your suggestion, I removed 2 folders using ftp from my test folder, which is /wordpress/, then uploaded the fresh folders of the same name from the version 3.5, and the error persisted. I then removed the rest of the individual files from the /wordpress/ folder, uploaded the same from the fresh package. The error persisted. I have not changed the wp-content folder yet.
So, I created a new directory at /wordpress/ and copied everything there
No! You cannot move WordPress around like that. You have to follow the instructions in Moving_WordPress. If possible, you need to put everything back to where it was before you started moving things.
I have about the same problem. This the message I recieve when I try to log in to my admin page is:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/d/w/4/dw4526/html/wp-content/themes/Gulf4Sale/functions.php:1) in /home/content/d/w/4/dw4526/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876
My website is http://www.gulf4sale.com
@dw4526: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

Hi esmi,
It took me a while to get to it, but I followed your advice.
I was able to restore my site by following the instruction under:
When Your Domain Name or URLs Change
…and by using the [Search and Replace for WordPress Databases Script] as suggested.
http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
Phew! Thank you.
