• Hello, my host recently updated the PHP and GD settings on the hosted sites.

My two wordpress blogs stopped functioning; one was 1.2.1 and the other 1.5 (some nightly from Jan).

I killed the 1.5 one, since it was non-critical, and have been trying to do a clean install.

Nothing is working, and it’s driving me crazy! I keep getting the following message:

“Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.”

I’ve alternately tried creating new databases, new users, new passwords, etc but nothing works. Here is the 1.5 install dir. I’ve not installed it because nothing works! argh!

    Thanks!

That message suggests that this is something your host needs to fix. If WordPress can’t get PHP to connect to MySQL, it won’t ever work.

Ask your host to fix whatever they broke.

Sorry, forgot to reply earlier. It was a server problem. Thanks!
