hello there, since yesterday i've tried to install the newest wp - problem is that everytime i access the install.php (or for that matter upgrade.php because i have also tried upgrading from 2.6 i think which was installed via confixx) i get a blank page - no errors, no nothing, just a blank page
i have tried uploading it in ASCII mode and in Auto mode with filezilla, deleted the last blank line of the configuration file, but none of the things i did made any difference. HALP!

I had this problem yesterday upgrading from 2.5.1. Couldn't
get to it with a browser like instructions said. Mine was
installed by Fantasico in CPanel. Went there to add a new
blog and low-and-behold it allows the update there. Ran it
even though I had backed up and moved new files for 2.8 it
worked fine... Hope this helps...

well, i downloaded 2.7.1 which installed glitch-free and works great.
the only thing slightly killing the buzz is the nagging ("upgrade to 2.8 now" is written in my cp... i don't think so!)
i'll just have to wait a few weeks for this whole thing to stabilize.
also, you were lucky to get the option directly through CPanel - my confixx is kinda stuck with 2.6 - nevermind. at least i can blog now...
