    Hi, I just installed my wordpress blog and I tried to import my old blog from Blogger.com using the import tool, but it doesn't work, here is what I got after trying:

    Could not connect to https://www.google.com

    There was a problem opening a secure connection to Google. This is what went wrong:

    The operation completed successfully.

    I'm having a similar problem where I receive a "connect timed out" error after I authorize my blog with google.

    A solution that work for me.

    Make a blog and account at wordpress.com.

    Import your post/comments/etc from blogger.

    Export -> save file (xml)

    ---
    Go to your self host wordpress site and import the xml file.

    Hope it works for u guys too.. Cheers.

    I had the same problem but realized that it has to have a blogspot address for the import to work. I changed by settings to a blogspot blog and imported and then changed back to what I normally use with blogger. Hope this helps

    I had no trouble importing the text of my blogspot posts including all comments, but the images uploaded on blogger needs to be moved also. How do I do that without saving and reuploading each individual picture? All the best
    Morten
