This may have been addressed already but I can’t figure out where to find the answer. I recently started a WP site and I am able to update and access it through the Dashboard, however, if I just type the site name into the address bar, I get this static screen that says “Blank Title” and has a picture of hands planting a plant. There is nothing I can do on that page. In the dashboard, I have entered the address that I want the reader to see (my site plus/welcome) but I cannot get this screen out of my life!! Please help!

  • It sounds like a placeholder page put there by your webhost. Rename index.html to something else like index-old.html.

Note the .html extension, or it might be .htm.
index.php is a WordPress file which is needed for your site to work.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! It was an Index.html and default.html issue. I have been trying to figure this out on my own for over 2 months now. Thank you again!
