    I installed the theme "MINGLE" http://para.llel.us/themes/mingle-wp/

    This is my associate's website: http://sliqmedia.com

    and as you can see, there isn't any black bars in the original theme and when I first installed it there wasn't any either. But somehow, somewhere along the way, an annoying black bar showed up. Does anyone know how to fix it?

  2. I'm not familiar with the theme.

    However, the color is being pulled from an element controlled through an application somewhere.

    Either, there is an option in your admin panel for the theme background color; or there is a plugin installed which is creating the background color.

    Take a look around your admin panel and see if you can't find an option somewhere for controlling background color.

    Are you referring to the Admin Bar, or something else?

    I see no "black bar". I suspect you're seeing the Admin Bar (which also appears on the Front End, and not only in the Admin).

    Can you provide a screenshot?

  6. Add this to your custom CSS:

    body, select, input, textarea {
        margin-top: -20px;
    }

    ...or you could just disable the admin bar from appearing on the Front End, via Dashboard -> Profile.

    Hiding the Admin Bar via changing CSS margins can, and very likely will, have adverse, unintended consequences.

  9. You're welcome. Please mark this thread as resolved :)

  10. @ Chip,

    It isn't the admin bar. It had a css element style that I couldn't locate using firebug. I'm not sure what was causing it, but shifting the body element up 20 pixels hid the stripe.

    Hey Chip,
    Unchecking the "Show Toolbar when viewing site" In the profile area) does not work. That ANNOYING black WP admin bar still appears at the top of the WP Dashboard.

    That's correct, and as intended. That "annoying black WP admin bar" is here to stay. It is now called the "Toolbar", and combines/replaces the old page header and admin bar.
