I read how to upload a Blavatar, however when I go to settings>general, there is no upload box. Am I doing something wrong?

I think it is supposed to be on the right hand side.

  2. Hi BrookR, where did you read how to upload a Blavatar? I think that's only a WordPress.com feature. If you're using WordPress.org and hosting your own blog, I don't think Blavatar is an available feature.

Are you hoping to achieve something in particular, i.e. have a favicon? If so I can help you try to find alternative methods.

I'm trying to do the same thing. I followed the instructions that BrookR is referring to, going under Settings>General and finding the blavataer (favicon) image settings, but to no avail. I am so new to this you wouldn't believe it!

    Thanks,

    Clinton

I have a ProPhoto template blog and I was able to find a tutorial on ProPhoto for doing it within the ProPhoto interface.

  5. Clintondyches:

I followed the instructions that BrookR is referring to

Could you please paste a link to the instructions here so I can take a look? Thanks.

Lord, I don't know where they were! I've been searching for it and I found it sometime this morning, but I didn't bookmark it. I've learned since, however, that it's only available to those who have WordPress host accounts, or (as noted above) very expensive templates.

I Googled favicon and created one, but I don't know how to get it into WordPress.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Right, that's just what I said above:

I think that's only a WordPress.com feature. If you're using WordPress.org and hosting your own blog, I don't think Blavatar is an available feature.

Blavatar combines several features that are available elsewhere.

If you've created a favicon.ico file, simply upload it to the root of your site and it should automatically appear in most browsers. Check out this page in the Codex for more info: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Favicon

You can also sign up for a free Gravatar and your avatar will then be automatically displayed with blog comments attached to that email address, and it will also show up at the top right of the admin panel when you're logged into your site.

I found a plug-in that allows me to include a favicon that I created in Photoshop. I need to 'fix' it a bit, but it's working!

    Thanks,

    Clinton
