Cannot re-connect Jetpack after wp 4.0 to 3.9.2 downgrade

    I had to downgrade my wordpress version due to an incompatibility between wp 4.0 and bbpress. When I did that I’m was asked to re-connect to jetpack but the connection is failing.

    “Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccesible
    Error Details: The jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP405]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com”

    My web host says they tried to whitelist the IP addresses of the WordPress.com website, but nothing changed.

    Jetpack was connecting fine before the down-grade, no additional plug-ins have been added or removed.

    Any insights on what’s going on and how I can fix this would be appreciated!
