Weird issue. My site (http://pushlasvegas.com) went down for a couple of hours yesterday due to a technical issue at the host level. When it came back up, none of my posts were featured on the front page as they previously had been (as set with the genesis featured posts widget in the studiopress.com "amped" theme). I did a little research and re-set up the widgets. My posts showed back up on my front page, but all now have the default "uncategorized". I cannot assign any post to any other category, nor can I add or change any categories. When you actually click on the categories link in the dashboard, none of the set up categories show up at all until you click on the "description" drop down, then they all show up (but still do not show up in any drop down menu anywhere else and thus, no posts can be assigned to them). I also noticed today that I can no longer upload any media. I get an error message (failed to write to disk despite not changing any file permissions). All was working fine before the site went down and no plugins or changes of any kind were made. Could this be a file permission issue where the permissions reverted back to an unwritable state?
I also tried to repair the database and even re-uploaded wordpress 3.1.2, but the problem still exists. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!
