Which php version are you using? This function call is in PHP since 5.3.0, and that version exists since 30-Jun-2009.
    I added this now:

but I recommend you upgrade PHP to something recent asap.

I just built this website with WordPress in July 2013. I have used this plugin on this website before. I’m still getting the same error message. I completely deleted and reinstalled the plugin and that message keeps coming up when I go to add an event.

PHP is not wordpress. Check your php version. And the change I created is in trunk (development version), not the released one. If you want it, you’ll need to add the code to the file mentioned in that change.
But still: update PHP and everything will be ok.

I just released 1.2.1 with a workaround for this.
    But still: update PHP
