Cannot access 'posts' or 'media' after upgrade to 3.0 (7 posts)

    Hi,

I just upgraded my WordPress to 3.0 from that last version.
It's working OK, but if I click on 'posts' (edit.php) or 'media' (upload.php), I get a 'page not found error'.

I have re-installed wordpress 3.0 as a clean install, instead of an upgrade, and have deactivated all plugins - still same problem?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Andy

Just testing, and if I add a post (i didn't have any before) then it is fine!

The problem is that my site is purely pages, and I don't want errors happening, as the client is using the backend.

    Is there a solution?

Seems a bit rubbish for the new version (2.9.2 didn't have this problem!)

    Thanks!
If I try and delete the one and only temporary post that i created, it again gives me the 'page not found' error.

Looks like something changed in our handling.

hmm.. So what should I do to rectify it?
I'm amazed this wasn't picked up before - I don't normally see any 'obvious' bugs like this with WordPress.

Yeah, this one slipped through. Broken about four months before 3.0's release it seems. This one isn't obvious on most server setups.. I see the page just fine, but I get a 404 header. For me to catch it, I'd have to have inspected the headers and also had no posts. Both of those happen fairly often, but not necessarily at the same time.

Fixed in http://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/15410 for 3.0.1, which will probably be pushed next week.
