    Hi,

I am new here. I cannot now access to dashboard after I changed the WordPress url in the ‘Setting’, in an attempt to enable HOME to show to a different page, WELCOME page on the top menu bar.

    My initial url is http://affiliate-bay.com/
and I changed that to: http://affiliate-bay.com/?page_id=25 (the WELCOME page).

The site still can be accessed, but the theme is gone.

    Appreciate for assistance from anybody.

    Regards

    Ramli

  • You need to go into your database and change the values back to what they were. Easy instructions on how to do that here.

In the future, if you want to set a different page to be the “landing page” navigate to Settings > Reading where you will see “Front page displays” with 2 options:

    1. Your latest posts
    2. A static page – with a drop down menu to select the one you want

    Hi Lenk,

Thank you for your quick response and advice.

When I click ‘here‘ I noticed your Warning and I must admit that this is the first time I came across with phpMyAdmin program.

A Google search on indicates I need to download the program at phpMyAdmin.net in order to use.

Please advise further, how should I proceed. Meanwhile I plan to learn further on this phpMyAdmin tool.

    Many thanks in advance.

usually your host has phpmyadmin already installed in their control panel. If this is not the case , don’t download it – there are other methods to do what LenK suggests

try one of the other methods to get site working

When I click ‘here’ I noticed your Warning …

That’s not my site. 🙂 It belongs to Podz (Mark). If you’re unsure how to proceed just post back here.

    What can I say..
My site is up and running again and I am pretty please!

Many thanks to samboll and LenK. I used the Quick fix method and it works beautifully. My initial reaction is that members of this Forum are very helpful.
